Worldwide coronavirus cases reach 37.68M, death toll at 1,077,858

More than 37.68 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,077,858 have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US leads with 7,783,379 cases and 214,584 deaths.

It was followed by:

  • India: 7,120,538 cases and 109,150 deaths
  • Brazil: 5,094,979 cases and 150,488 deaths
  • Russia: 1,312,310 cases and 22,722 deaths
  • Colombia: 911,316 cases and 27,834 deaths

The Philippines is 18th on the list with 342,816 cases and 6,332 deaths. Source: Reuters
