The Philippine  Embassy in Brunei Darussalam welcomed the Saceda Youth Lead (SYL) delegation, a youth-serving institution under the auspices of the National Youth Commission, on 10 May 2018. The sixteen-member delegation was composed of teachers who were awarded as Inspiring Teachers of the Philippines by said institution.

The delegation met Ambassador Meynardo LB Montealegre and was given a briefing on Philippines-Brunei relations and other Embassy tasks by Embassy officials, Administrative Officer Estrella Perez and Cultural Officer Rose Paz Narvaja-Cornista. The delegation was also given a tour of the Chancery.

Founded by Mr. Dave Saceda in 1998, the SYL aims to create a platform for students and professionals to appreciate and understand geo-political issues in the ASEAN region through engagement in and discussion of educational, socio-economic, cultural and political issues. The SYL delegation visits Brunei Darussalam annually as part of their immersion activities. END
