The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam conducted its first Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS) on Sunday, 04 March 2018 at the Chancery.

Sixty (60) participated in the event, composed of Filipino Household Service Workers (HSWs) and representatives of accredited recruitment agencies.

Consul Melvin Almonguera welcomed the participants and oriented them on the cultural sensitivities in Brunei Darussalam.  Vice Consul Jaybee Arguillas talked on the Embassy’s consular services and Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Officer Mark Arinquin discussed ATN services.  Labor Attaché Melissa Mendizabal talked on the services of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) office.  The participants were also oriented on the available services of Pag-IBIG Fund and the Social Security System (SSS).

PAOS attendees expressed appreciation to the Embassy for the conduct of the event and for the information on the services they can avail while in Brunei.

As part of its Empowerment Program for Overseas Filipinos, the Embassy will conduct PAOS once every quarter, particularly for HSWs. END
