PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN BRUNEI ATTENDS THANKSGIVING MASS IN CELEBRATION OF THE 120th ANNIVERSARY OF PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE

The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, led by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. (CDA) Pete Raymond V. Delfin, attended a Thanksgiving Mass in celebration of the 120th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence held at the Church of Our Lady of Assumption on June 10, 2018. Said Mass was attended by more than 250 members of the Filipino Community.

The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Cornelius Sim, the Vicar Apostolic of the Catholic Apostolic Vicariate of Brunei, assisted by visiting Filipino priest, Rev. Fr. Marthy Marcelo. Bishop Sim congratulated the Philippines and the Philippine Embassy on the occasion of the 120th Anniversary of Philippine Independence, and conveyed his best wishes for the country’s continued peace and prosperity.

Following the Mass, the Philippine Embassy, through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, distributed food packs to members of the Filipino Community who were present during the event. Bishop Sim and Fr. Marcelo were invited by CDA Delfin for a simple breakfast at the Embassy. END
