The Dance Synergie, on behalf of the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, presented a Philippine cultural performance during the 1Kampong 1Produk (1K1P) – Brunei Darussalam Expo 2017 organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs in conjunction with the celebrations for the 50th Anniversary of His Majesty The Sultan’s Accession to the Throne at the International Convention Center (ICC).

The Dance Synergie is a member of the Sarjana Education Group based in Brunei Darussalam. The group is composed of Filipino teachers, and Filipino and Bruneian students from the Seri Mulia Sarjana International School and the Seri Mulia Sarjana School.

They performed a 40-minute repertoire of Philippine traditional fiesta dances from Luzon and the Visayas. The group’s performance was well-received by Filipino and Bruneian audiences numbering to more than 150 members, who enjoyed the popular traditional dances such as the Tinikling and the Itik-Itik. Following their performance, the group invited the audience to join them in some of their dance routines.

The Philippine cultural performance was one of the highlighted events during the 1K1P Expo held from 01 to 05 November 2017 at the ICC. Events such as this serve as an avenue for the Embassy to strongly promote Filipino culture, food, and arts in Brunei Darussalam. END
