The 1st Joint Committee Meeting (JCM) under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Department of Trade and Industry of the Republic of the Philippines (DTI) and the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry of Brunei Darussalam (MEMI) on Halal Industry and Halal Export Development and Promotion was successfully convened at the International Convention Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan on 09 August 2018.
DTI Undersecretary Abdulgani M. Macatoman, Head of the Philippine delegation, and MEMI Deputy Permanent Secretary (Management, Cooperatives and Industry) Tutiaty Abdul Wahab co-chaired the Meeting.
The highlights of the 1st JCM included the discussion of the proposed Structure and Terms of Reference (TOR) of the JCM; discussion of the proposed activities and programmes to be pursued under the MOU; discussion of the date and venue of the 2nd JCM; and signing of the Joint Communiqué.

The 2nd JCM will be hosted by the Philippines in 2019. END
