Palace announces new guidelines on SAP
Malacaῆang and the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) have released new guidelines on government measures against COVID-19.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea in his memorandum directed the IATF to retain the original amount of the first tranche of the social amelioration program (SAP). The additional five million family beneficiaries will be added to the second tranche as ordered by President Rodrigo R. Duterte.
Based on the memorandum, residents of areas covered by the general community quarantine (GCQ) may be considered for the second tranche even if the priority is given to those under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
The Palace has also ordered the immediate creation of an online portal which will provide the list of beneficiaries and other important information to speed up SAP distribution.
Meanwhile, authorities have approved the recommended measure of the DOST on the country’s involvement in clinical trials for COVID-19 vaccines under Resolution No. 39. President Duterte has already given a go signal to DOST to establish research centers to boost local vaccine development.
