The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and the Overseas Worker Welfare Administration Office (OWWA), held its first Basic Baking Course for active OWWA members. The course was held on 11 November 2018 with twelve (12) OFW-participants at the Migrant Workers and Other Overseas Filipino Resource Center (MWOFRC) in Chempaka Park, Jalan Tutong.

Ms. Abigail Famador lectured on simple baking rules and guided the participants through the step-by-step procedures of baking red velvet cake and marble cake. The participants were divided into groups and each group was given a set of baking ingredients and utensils. Succeeding sessions will be held twice a month on a Sunday.

The Basic Baking Course is part of the Reintegration Program for OFWs of the Philippine Government and it intends to give additional livelihood skills to the OFs, especially to Household Service Workers. END
