Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will be needing 200 fresh graduates in Bataan for a work-from-home internship program, generating jobs amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

DOLE Bataan Provincial Director Leilani Reynoso disclosed that hired interns of their Government Internship Program (GIP) will be paid in minimum wage or PhP420 a day instead of just receiving allowances or stipends.

“Given the pandemic, they will be working from home. Basically, the job description includes collecting, updating and validating socio-economic data from their respective barangays by contacting stakeholders thru phone or email,” Reynoso explained in an interview.

With this, requirements include a smartphone, laptop or desktop computer and a stable internet connection at home.

“We will not expose them since they will be working at their own house for a period of five months or about 110 working days,” she added.

Reynoso clarified that GIP is mainly intended for newly graduates of high school, technical vocational courses or college, and working experience will not be required.

Among other qualifications include 18 to 30 years of age and resident of Bataan, while documents needed are transcript of records or diploma/ form 137/form138 and curriculum vitae.

Moreover, the internship program will be in coordination with local government units in Bataan thru their respective Public Employment Service Office. It is in partnership with Bataan Second District Representative Jose Enrique Garcia III.

Interested applicants may send required documents to GIPBataan@gmail.com. Deadline is on Sunday, June 21, 2020.

DOLE will verify each application, and those who will pass the initial screening will receive a message on the schedule of their interview.— Source: (CLJD/MJSD-PIA 3)
