DoH: More COVID cases expected
The Department of Health (DoH) revealed on Wednesday that coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections in the country is expected to rise continuously as the government is already easing restrictions for economic reasons.
In a briefing, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that they are expecting cases to rise while the government gradually opens the economy and ease community quarantine restrictions.
In the recent weeks, the number of cases in the country increased to a thousand almost daily and at present, over 32,000 has reportedly contracted the coronavirus disease with a majority coming from Region VII and the National Capital Region.
Among the emerging hotspots of COVID-19 cases in the country include a large part coming from the Visayas region such as Cebu City, Cebu province, Ormoc City, Southern Leyte, Leyte and Samar.— Source: Gabbie Parlade / tribune.net.ph
