“The Embassy of the Philippines in Bandar Seri Begawan informs the Filipino community in Brunei Darussalam that it has recently encountered a case wherein a Philippine Passport was found to be illegally tampered.
In line with the regulations of the Philippine Government, the case was immediately referred to the Department of Foreign Affairs upon discovery. An in-depth investigation is currently being conducted.
The Filipino community in Brunei are reminded that tampering with a Philippine passport is a criminal offence under Republic Act No. 8239 or the Philippine Passport Act of 1995.”
