37 new COVID-19 cases recorded among Filipinos overseas —DFA
The number of Filipinos abroad who have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) climbed to 2,397 after the Department of Foreign Affairs reported 37 new patients.
Two Filipinos, meanwhile, recovered from the illness, bringing the total number of recoveries overseas to 826, while patients undergoing treatment are at 1,294.
Meanwhile, the death toll rose to 277 with three new fatalities.
Europe still had the most number of COVID-19-positive Filipinos with 723 cases, 85 deaths, 226 recoveries and 412 undergoing treatment.
The Middle East or Africa followed with 687 patients, including 41 fatalities, 87 recoveries and 559 undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, in the Americas, 542 Filipinos have been infected with the disease with 149 deaths, 203 recoveries and 190 undergoing treatment.
In the Asia Pacific Region, there are 445 cases, two of whom have died, 310 have recovered and 133 are undergoing treatment. — Source: Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
